Prof. Aki visited a university in Malaysia for an international collaborative research project.

Prof. Aki visited the University of Nottingham Malaysia on February 24 and 25, 2026, to give a special lecture and hold meetings on research projects. Prof. Aki of the Energy Systems Laboratory, together with Prof. Takanori Isobe of the Institute of Pure and Applied Science, was selected for the JST NEXUS program and will conduct international collaborative research with Prof. Freddy Tan Kheng Suan and Prof. Haider Almurib of the University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) during the 2026–2028 period. The research topic is “Empowering Indigenous Communities through Sustainable Electrification: Hybrid PV-Battery Systems for Rural Malaysia.” We will actively engage not only in research and development but also in student exchange, and, modestly, contribute to mutual understanding and strengthening relations between the two countries. We hope that students from both countries, who will lead the future, will learn that international cooperation can bring greater results to both sides by experiencing cross-border joint projects.
